Zwolle – Landstede Volleybal kan ook komend seizoen een beroep doen op passer-loper Jake Wiens. De 29-jarige Amerikaan heeft zijn contract met een jaar verlengd. Voor de 1.92 meter lange volleyballer, die in 2013 overkwam van Lycurgus, wordt het volleybalseizoen 2014-2015 zijn tweede in Zwolse dienst. Na Steven Eertman, Stijn Held, Willem-Maarten Heins en Fabian Dossett is Wiens de vijfde speler die heeft bijgetekend. De landskampioen wist naast dit vijftal al zes nieuwe spelers vast te leggen.
Jake Wiens laat vanuit de Verenigde Staten weten zeer blij te zijn met de contractverlenging. “I am happy to announce that I will be returning to Landstede Volleybal for the 2014-2015 season. After the completion of the 2013-2014 season I spoke with Landstede’s organization to discuss my future with the club. As with my previous experience with Landstede, it was smooth, direct and professional and we came to an easy agreement. With all of the success we had last year and the year prior, I am hoping I can make a positive impact on the upcoming season and help contribute to a third championship in a row!
